Maria Popova über Content Curation in Blogs

Wenn ich blogge, dann meist auch im großen Maße kuratierend. Was diesen Ansatz ausmacht, bringt Maria Popova gut auf den Punkt:

(…) Curation is all about pattern-recognition, seeing how various and diverse pieces of content fit together under the same taste umbrella or along the same narrative path, so the guiding principle has to be the sole storyteller with a strong point of view. (…) having multiple authors on a curatorial blog dilutes its authenticity (…)

Sie spricht auch noch einen wichtigen Aspekt an, der aus meiner Sicht von einem modernen Urheberrecht berücksichtigt werden sollte:

(…) And the art of curation isn’t about the individual pieces of content, but about how these pieces fit together, what story they tell by being placed next to each other, and what statement the context they create makes about culture and the world at large. (…)

Wenn man heute aber ein Zitat im Blog veröffentlicht und es nicht im gleichen Beitrag adäquat kommentiert, dann ist das oft schon nicht zulässig. Dabei bietet bei Curation-Ansätzen der Blog und somit die vorherigen Beiträge den impliziten Kommentar, der deshalb nicht zwingend im gleichen Blogbeitrag zu finden sein muss. Das sollte berücksichtigt werden.
