Zum Jahreswechsel hat Amazon seine Author Stores als Beta freigeschaltet. Amazon erklärt auch, was das ist:

Amazon Author Stores (beta) are new corners of our bookstore dedicated to offering customers a new way to browse and shop favorite authors, discover new books, and more. Today each Author Store includes a bibliography, and can include a biography, author photo, and discussion board. But stay tuned–we’ll be adding more features in the months to come.

Die Ziele von Amazon sind hoch gesteckt:

Today we only have a few thousand Author Stores, but over time our goal is to have one for every author.

Auch wenn die Author Stores noch sehr einfach gestaltet sind, halte ich sie für einen sinnvollen Schritt. Ich hatte ja vor ein paar Tagen darüber geschrieben, dass u.a. Autoren eine eigene Community besitzen, die von solchen Plattformen angesprochen und sichtbar gemacht werden sollte. Es ist nur konsequent, dass Amazon dies nun auf seine Weise versucht.
